Truck & Railcar couplings
Truck & Railcar couplings / Loading Arm Adapters
The railcar coupling is an integral crossover mounted onto rail tanks or road tankers in order to allow quick and safe connection to loading arms or other terminal facilities.
Process and Design
The connection is a wing union fig. 602.
- The spherical tapered male plug provides metal-to-metal secondary sealing.
- ACME or ISO union thread.
- Forged nut with drilled lugs. Tightening with “Wecorail” wrench.
- The primary seal element can be supplied in different materials to suit fluid service (FKM or EPDM).
- A chain retains the nut whilst the coupling is connected with loading arm.
- Raised face flange with position indicator.
Safety Alert
Always use an original FCE wing union. The use of a copy may seriously affect the safety of the operation.
Application
Loading and unloading of various liquid and gaseous fluids (hydrocarbons, refined products, chemicals, LPG, NH3, etc.).

LPG Rego type Unions & Adapters
Process and Design
The Rego type union is similar to the wing union but the nut is attached to the female sub. The nut is grooved for “Key Fore®” wrench make up. 1 3/4″ and 3 1/4″ ACME Union thread available. Union subs are available for several pipe assemblies: NPT or BSP threaded or Butt welded (sch.40).
Adapters
Adapters between Rego type union and other connections are available as follow:
- Rego type union x wing union.
- Rego type union x flange (ANSI, DIN, ISO).
- Rego type union x reduced Rego type union .
