How to select your swivel joint
In order to provide the fitting for a given application, it is essential to specify the following information:
1 – Flow conditions:
- Max operating pressure.
- Min and Max operating temperature (fluid).
- Max flow rate.
2 – Fluid characteristics:
- Fluid characteristics
- Abrasive & corrosive content
3 – Mechanical constraints:
- Radial & axial loads.
- Rotating speed.
4 – Service and environmental conditions:
- Ambient temperature & environment (indoor, outdoor).
- Service frequency (time per day).
- Piping system configuration & line size.

Swivels are sold loose (butt welded or threaded) or fully assembled with end connections to be specified (flange, wing union, etc.). FCE also manufactures cementing and circulating hoses up to 5000 PSI.
